Our association has been nationally influencing and developing the working field for the persons suffering from memory disorders, their families and professional caregivers in a leading position. This would not have been possible without the valuable work of thousands professionals and volunteers.
Only by action you can influence
We advocate good everyday life of people suffering from memory disorders and affect their well-being, for example by drafting and publishing statements and arranging seminars. We operate all over Finland, for example through our national volunteer network Alva.
We provide recent expert knowledge for health care professionals by our various channels such as seminars, guidebooks and our magazine Memo. Additionally we offer consultation service for professionals free of charge.
We develop knowledge-based methods for better care of people with memory disorders and we embed our researched practices in co-operation with our partners. It is important for us to work together with other associations, municipalities, and related international organizations.
Our association has around 2000 members: professionals and students from various fields of work as well as 130 different sized care work entities. Their shared goal is to promote the quality of life of people suffering from memory disorders.
Typical professional groups that cooperate with us are various health- and social care professionals such as care workers, physicians, physiotherapists and students from the field. Other members are also people working in congregations, schools of health- and social care, project coordinators and architects.
